Walmart Plus: Here's All You Should Know About The New Bundle And Its Benefits

Walmart Inc. (NASDAQ: WMT) launched a $120-a-year bundle on October 20 that combines Walmart+ with Sam’s Club Plus. The package offers nearly $100 in savings compared with buying the memberships separately, with free delivery, fuel discounts, streaming access and rewards on qualifying purchases.

Walmart is combining two of its retail membership programs in a bid to attract more shoppers ahead of the 2026 holiday season. The new deal gives customers access to Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus for a single annual fee of $120, equivalent to $10 a month.

The company’s announcement says the combined membership is available to new customers and existing subscribers who qualify for an upgrade. The offer arrives as households remain sensitive to everyday expenses. Recent consumer sentiment data point to continued concern about the cost of living, while retailers are trying to retain customers by emphasizing lower prices and convenience.

Walmart says the new package costs almost $100 less per year than purchasing the two memberships independently. The company is pitching it as a way for shoppers to consolidate grocery delivery, warehouse shopping and other services under one subscription.

What Does the Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus Bundle Include?

The bundle combines the existing benefits of both memberships rather than replacing them with an entirely new set of services.

Walmart+ benefits include:

  • Free delivery: Eligible Walmart orders of at least $35 qualify for free store delivery, subject to availability and restrictions.
  • Free shipping: Eligible Walmart.com orders can receive free next-day or two-day shipping without a minimum order amount. Marketplace exclusions and other restrictions apply.
  • Streaming: Members can select one ad-supported service between Peacock Premium and Paramount+ Essential. The selection can be changed every 90 days, and separate registration is required.
  • Fuel discounts: Members can save 10 cents per gallon at participating Walmart, CITGO, Exxon, Mobil and Murphy stations, subject to location-specific conditions.
  • Pharmacy delivery: Eligible prescription orders can be delivered without an order minimum, although medication and service restrictions apply.

The Walmart+ membership page outlines the existing benefits and their conditions.

Sam’s Club Plus adds warehouse-club access and member-only prices. Members can also receive free delivery on qualifying Sam’s Club orders of at least $50. The package includes 2% Sam’s Cash on eligible purchases, capped at $750 per year.

The rewards are not unlimited cash back on every transaction. Purchases must qualify under Sam’s Club’s terms, and customers should check the applicable restrictions before estimating how much they might earn.

For shoppers who regularly use both retailers, the combination could reduce the cost of maintaining separate memberships. The comparison is less favorable for people who rarely visit Sam’s Club or do not use Walmart delivery and streaming benefits. That calculation is particularly relevant for consumers already seeking discounts at retailers such as Dollar General, where higher living costs have pushed more households toward value-focused shopping.

How Much Does the Bundle Cost for Existing Members?

Walmart has set different upgrade options based on customers’ existing memberships, as shown in the image below:

Customers who already pay for both services can link their Walmart+ and Sam’s Club accounts through the respective apps or Walmart’s bundle enrollment page. Walmart says most customers in this category qualify for a prorated refund for Walmart+.

The package also extends beyond retail customers. Walmart said US field associates at Walmart and Sam’s Club will receive both memberships as part of their employee benefits.

The offer puts Walmart in more direct competition with membership-based retailers such as Costco. The warehouse retailer relies on recurring membership revenue and member loyalty, a model explored in Wealthier Today’s coverage of Costco’s membership business. For Walmart, combining its memberships could encourage customers to use both businesses more frequently while giving existing subscribers an incentive to consolidate spending within its retail ecosystem.

The company is also heading into a period when shoppers tend to spend more on food, gifts and household supplies. Walmart told investors that costs associated with the new membership program were not expected to materially affect its previously issued fiscal third-quarter or full-year guidance.

Whether the bundle is worth the fee depends on how much customers use it. Shoppers who already pay for both services stand to benefit most from linking their accounts. Existing Walmart+ members can add Sam’s Club Plus for $22 more a year, making the upgrade relatively inexpensive if they expect to use warehouse-club pricing or delivery.

Customers who would be paying for either service mainly to take advantage of the new offer should compare the annual charge with their expected savings. Tracking recurring payments through a household spending plan or budgeting app can help reveal whether the package replaces expenses they would otherwise incur or adds another subscription to the budget.

The launch gives Walmart a new way to compete for value-conscious shoppers ahead of the holidays. The headline saving is substantial for people who would otherwise buy both memberships, but the practical benefit will depend on how often they use the delivery, fuel, streaming and warehouse-shopping features.
